Chelmsford County High School for Girls is not a member of the CSSE and has a different admission and testing process. Girls applying for a place at Chelmsford County High School take an 11+ exam supplied by the FSCE (Future Stories Community Enterprise). This is an academic test, designed to select the 25% of children working at the top ability range in their year group.

The supplier of the entrance test for Redbridge Grammar Schools is GL Assessment, which is the country's leading provider of 11+ tests for admissions purposes. 11 Plus registration for Ilford County High School for Boys and Woodford County High School for Girls starting in September 2024, will open on 1 May 2023 and will close at 5pm on 30 June 2023.
